What’s New at NDEC?
As our 2018 conference approaches, there are several exciting changes to take note of. First, our website has a new look! Take a moment to peruse the site and soak up the new aesthetics. We hope you’ll find the update more visually appealing and easy to navigate. When you visit the site, you’ll see there are links for previewing the conference schedule, registering yourself and colleagues, reserving lodging, and responding to our Call for Proposals.
The conference is hosted this year by Northeast Community College in Norfolk, NE, and two of our breakout sessions will be led by attendees using an ‘unconference’ model, granting an opportunity to discuss topics and share information in small groups based upon your current areas of interest or inquiry. Friday during lunch, attendees will have a chance to engage in the One Conference/One Book Address and Discussion with author Ellen Carillo, who will join us via web. Her book, A Writer’s Guide to Mindful Reading, can be accessed free online. Also, our first annual NDEC Teacher of the Year award will take place Friday afternoon before the conference closes.
For a full description of the conference lineup, visit the NDEC website and consider contributing content by submitting a proposal to present either during a full group or traditional breakout session. Important dates to remember:
- August 31st: Call for Proposals Deadline
- September 28th: Registration Deadline (Registration is half-price for adjunct faculty)
- October 4th & 5th: Conference in Norfolk, NE
